The Kate Headband Knitting Pattern
Are you looking to achieve the stylish look of a twist headband without the awkward seam? If so, then the Kate Headband knitting pattern is perfect for you! This super bulky headband, designed to also function as an earwarmer, features a unique cable design and incorporates just one seam—located at the back of the headband, where it won't be visible. This makes it a quick and enjoyable project, ideal for using up leftover yarn scraps.
To create the Kate Headband, you will need approximately 25 yards of super bulky yarn. For this sample, I used Lion Brand Wool-Ease Thick & Quick Stripes in the beautiful colorway "Hudson Bay." Additionally, please have a pair of 9mm (US 13) straight needles on hand.
The cable technique used in this pattern is fairly straightforward—featuring an interesting maneuver that engages all of the stitches. It's rated as an advanced beginner level, meaning that even those newer to knitting will be able to tackle it with confidence. I've included an extensive explanation of the cable stitch in the Glossary of Abbreviations, which provides essential descriptions for all stitches and abbreviations utilized in this pattern. Each abbreviation is paired with links to helpful tutorials to ensure that this pattern is accessible and user-friendly for knitters of all skill levels.
Happy knitting and enjoy crafting your very own Kate Headband!
