Pseudoku - Knit
This stunning knit design is inspired by a page from the captivating mathematical colouring book *Snowflake, Seashell, Star: Colouring Adventures in Numberland* by Alex Bellos and Edmund Harriss. It features a unique composition of three superimposed Sudoku solutions, where traditional numbers have been creatively replaced by a vibrant array of colours. The outer L-shaped sections represent the first Sudoku solution, while the inner L-shapes showcase the second solution. The colorful squares in the center illustrate the third solution, all adhering to standard Sudoku rules, ensuring that each colour appears only once in every row, column, and block of nine squares.
The beautifully crafted afghan utilizes approximately 210 metres (230 yards) of 9 shades of high-quality DK yarn to create an impressive 112 cm (45”) square design, perfect for use as an eye-catching wall-hanging. This knitting pattern not only provides detailed instructions for achieving the stunning look but also offers alternative options for using different types of yarn and allows for size modifications to suit your personal preferences.
In total, the afghan features 81 squares, showcasing a harmonious blend of colours and designs. While many of the squares repeat, the pattern includes a version with all 81 unique squares for those adventurous knitters seeking a greater challenge. Alternatively, a simpler version is also available for a more straightforward knitting experience.
