Cable and Lace
Welcome to my unique take on a lace baby blanket design, where I've beautifully blended my passion for intricate cable patterns with delightful lace hearts. This charming blanket, measuring approximately 65x90 cm, is the perfect size for a cot or can also serve as a lovely Christening shawl—ideal for gifting to a newborn or for special occasions. A heartfelt thank you goes out to my wonderful pattern testers: Christine, Olive, Linda, and Marsha, for their invaluable feedback and support.
The knitting pattern is presented in an easy-to-follow 7-page document, which includes detailed charts, comprehensive written instructions, and clear photographs showcasing various stages of the project. This resource ensures that knitters of all levels can successfully create this stunning lace baby blanket.
For this project, I utilized approximately 750 meters of Paintbox Simply DK yarn, working with 3mm circular needles to accommodate the width of the blanket. However, feel free to experiment with your preferred DK yarn and 4mm needles, as gauge isn't critical in this particular pattern. My gauge measures at 20 stitches and 28 rows after washing and blocking, specifically across the heart pattern sections.
It's important to note that this pattern is intended for personal use only. Reselling the pattern or any blankets created using this design is strictly prohibited. By respecting these guidelines, we can all enjoy the art of knitting while sharing our creations within our communities.
Thank you for considering this pattern, and I wish you happy knitting! May your work bring warmth and joy to those it touches.
