**Auroraknit's Special Memory Blanket for Ava: Free Knitting Pattern**
Welcome to the blanket group dedicated to support, help, chat, and promotional information related to Auroraknit's beautiful blankets. This special memory blanket was lovingly designed for my niece, Ava, who was sadly stillborn. Crafted with care, the lace-weight yarn was chosen specifically because a small baby like Ava would have been overwhelmed by heavier materials. In remembrance, a second ‘memory blanket’ was also created for her parents to cherish.
While the pattern for this heartfelt blanket is offered for free, we encourage those who feel inclined to make a donation to the Sands stillbirth charity in Ava’s memory. Your generous contributions will help raise awareness and potentially prevent other families from enduring the same heartbreaking experience. For more information on donating, please visit their website: [Sands Stillbirth Charity](http://www.uk-sands.org/Home.html).
The stunning blanket depicted here was made using less than 400 meters of lace-weight yarn, making it a lightweight and delicate tribute. The pattern includes instructions on how to incorporate lace repeats, allowing you to customize your creation. Alternatively, you can use a heavier yarn to craft a more substantial blanket suitable for various occasions.
It’s important to note that while this blanket was heavily blocked to achieve the desired tension, tension is not critical in this pattern. The final size of the blanket is approximately 60x60 cm, making it a perfect keepsake for any family or a cherished gift for someone in need.
