**Create a Beautiful Log Cabin Afghan in Honor of Loved Ones**
Introducing a heartfelt knitting pattern designed in memory of my beloved grandmother, Ruth, and in tribute to my uncle, Joel. This unique afghan not only brings warmth and comfort but also supports a noble cause: 100% of the profits will benefit the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America. To date (as of March 2014), we’ve raised approximately $200 from the sales of this pattern, and your support can help us continue making a difference!
This afghan is a delightful variant of the traditional log cabin design. Each square is crafted individually and then neatly sewn together, making it an incredibly portable and enjoyable project. Contrary to what you might think, assembling the squares doesn’t take an excessive amount of time, allowing you to see progress in a relatively short time. It’s also a fantastic stash-buster project; I’ve primarily used worsted weight yarns, but I've also incorporated fingering weight yarn held double for an interesting texture.
I extend my heartfelt gratitude to the talented test knitters: olive2, nathalierevel, autumngirl84, donnaAlley, purlingkitten, kamah, KnititKim, and nwheatley. Their expertise and feedback were invaluable in refining this pattern. Additionally, a special thank you goes to Susan Moskwa (http://www.rogueedits.com) for her exceptional tech editing skills; this pattern would not have come to fruition without her support.
Whether you're an expert knitter or just starting, this log cabin afghan pattern is approachable and rewarding.
